NOTICE: After a complaint and serious allegations were made about this audio track, I tried to to establish what was the cause. It didn't help that the complainant blocked all contact routes. Subsequent third party reviews suggest there are no problems with this, other than some of those taking part might be offended by the out-takes lumped on after the programme had finished.
To that end, it has been edited to include a comment informing the listener that the end piece is simply outakes intended to bring levity to what, for some listeners is a powerful broadcast. No detriment was meant to any person living or dead, and may I add that I ridicule myself first.
If this is not enough to ease anyone's qualms or misgivings, I am quite at a loss for what to do next, as I know that some participants are proud of their work. The use of out-takes is a common form of media leit motif across all genres. And it is seldom to my knowledge announced.
Other complaint about the imagery could not be satisfactorily addressed due to this being a rush job to meet admission deadlines at the radio station it went out on (as well as substack). The best quality image was selected along with realistic photography taken during the recording.
Beyond this I can only apologise if anyone took any of this in a way or ways it was not intended.
Captain Cat's Chat has been set up to exhort local poets and associated arts and to reach new audiences. I would like to thank all those who took part, without whom none of this nor any other programme that I and/or Mike O'Brien create would be possible.
Thank you for reading, Alex
